*** Welcome to Jacob Wendell House Bed & Breakfast
Built in 1846, Wendell House offers all of the conveniences of today while capturing the charm of yesteryear. Located just a short stroll from the downtown shopping area and the marina, this home offers a large front yard with spacious decking allowing you to sit back, relax and take in the sights and sounds of historic Mackinac Island.
For the past several decades, the Jacob Wendell House was known at Bay Cottage. Following much research, we have decided to give the cottage back its original name to preserve and share this home's history. We hope you will enjoy the charm and history of this home as much as we have and we look forward to your visit.
Sincerely,
The Gale Family
***About Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island is located in the straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet between Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas.
In 1898, the city of Mackinac banned horseless carriages and today the same is true. Transportation is by horse and carriage, bicycle or feet which lends to the charm of Mackinac Island.
